Amor Poalasin Pogyo
Amor Poalasin Pogyo (they/them) is a junior at Rollins College double majoring in Anthropology and Latin American and Caribbean Studies. They grew up in Lehigh Acres in SWFL amongst migrant communities that traveled to Immokalee. Having this background, Amor has dedicated their studies to understanding health and access within these communities. After reading about the injustices within the agricultural industry through a professor’s book recommendation, Amor became an intern for CIW in summer '24, where their passion that everyone deserves the right to dignity and peace grew stronger. Amor hopes to keep learning about community organizing and access to health while also uplifting the voices of farmworkers who've been silenced for far too long.
