NEW VIDEO: Support young leaders traveling to Immokalee, FL, this month for the #2019Encuentro!
We’re less than one month out from the 2019 SFA Encuentro. As plans materialize to make this year’s national strategy convergence one of the most diverse and accessible to date, youth in Immokalee just released a brand-new video, making the call for the SFA network to pull our resources together to make it happen!
Year after year, for over a decade now, the Encuentro has served as a community space for hundreds of young people to cultivate a critical analysis of the corporate food industry and define their power in the struggle for farmworker justice. This year, we are focusing heavily on developing the organizing skills of our network and crafting a unified strategy to escalate the Wendy’s Boycott on campuses across the country.
We’re raising $3,500 to award travel and registration scholarships for over a dozen Encuentro participants! But we’ve still got a long way to go in order to meet our goal. Will you pitch in?
Together with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, we have fought to make enforceable human rights real for tens of thousands of farmworkers. Now, we need your support to help equip our network with the necessary tools to bring Wendy’s into the Fair Food Program. Donate now and share our online crowdfunding page with your friends and family members today!
